I just got the Sony RX100 V because my trusted old Sony NEX 5T simply feels outdated for me. It’s a beautiful little powerhouse but it’s SO slippery to hold. I’ve watched at least 10 reviews of the thing but was surprised that nobody mentioned it.
A few moments later and an always inspiring conversation with the Mrs, I saved this camera from a certain death by dropping and now it’s run, chase and vlog safe! (more…)
Last night around midnight, the smothering heat and humidity was finally broken by a quick thunderstorm that came and went before I could even get the tripod out and set up the camera. So I took to the streets and chased the storm down to the sea front by Surfside and captured these photos. Autumn in Malta, my favorite time of the year!
Yoga at Freemyme is one of the best on the island, simply because of the variety of teachers and styles. There’s something there for everyone and I wanted to reflect that with this video I made for them, one spiritual aspect and one more fitness oriented aspect. Whoever you are and whatever you like, this is for you.
Last year, my better half convinced me to join “a new type of gym”, with highly trained and dedicated trainers in a group training environment. Long story short I ended up doing a lot of collaborations with them and this was one of them, a photoshoot with co-founder Daniel Lake.
You would sit at that window every night and trying to make the sun rise all by yourself. Your daddy would put you to bed after you fell asleep with your face against the glass, and I was so jealous, that you believed. You believed you could make the sun rise.
Last year I was convinced by my better half to try out a new gym in Sliema, Freemyme. Reluctantly I agreed to go have a look after having moderate to no success at keeping the regularity of attending a gym for more than 3 months. Against my own belief I fell in love with the place and it’s staff and earlier this year we decided to start to collaborate on some videos to promote this inspiring place.
I come from a background of handball and basketball. Like most kids, I stopped at some point in my teen years because it was just getting too serious and I was busy pursuing girls and my DJ career. The natural option to stay healthy was to get a gym membership and start lifting weights, hitting the machines and trying everything to recreate that feeling of adrenaline as I had training basketball. It never felt the same and after a few months I always ended up slacking off or giving up entirely because it wasn’t a joy, it was a chore and as one of the trainers at Freemyme said, nobody likes to do chores (I confess, I like to vacuum, sue me).
Starting training at Freemyme I felt immediately huddled into the team and sprung straight into action. This was in mid 2015 and I’m still there pounding it out several times a week. It feels like a team sport but without the stifling commitment of professional sports training. At the same time it feels like personal training, tailored for you, but in a group environment. It might not be the best for everyone, but it’s absolutely perfect for me. This series of videos will be ongoing so watch out for updates of this playlist.
Between managing a baby, a career and a half, crazy winds and breaking out into a horrible cold… I’ve been struggling with getting my eye in the sky up and running. Last Sunday we had a BBQ on the roof terrace and I decided to take it up for a quick spin around my neighbourhood. The footage is absolutely nothing but the potential of the Phantom 4 is absolutely staggering. Now I just need to get a baby sitter ;)
The other day I got an email from someone who said he just visited my website and saw the beautiful pregnancy pictures of my wife and congratulated me on having a baby. That was about a year ago and I thought to myself, it can’t possibly be true that I haven’t updated my website since then… oh, apparently it is.
About a year ago I started a new project called – Fatherologist – Stay At Home Dad, it’s not rocket science, is it? Between that, actually having a baby and being a stay at home dad, building a new house and project managing several others all while maintaining my regular media production work it’s been hard to keep this website alive. That along with the ubiquity of social media and my Facebook pages has just rendered this digital business card a bit redundant, but shame on me for saying that. It’s time to kick up some dust again.
Before we continue, I want to share a film I made about the birth of my son, then we’ll get back to normal business.
As some of you might know, I’m having a son in a few weeks. To celebrate the final stage of pregnancy I took the missus out for a sunrise photo shoot. If you want to follow the work I do with my new project, visit: www.fatherologist.com
This lovely couple contacted me, actually it was a part of an anniversary surprise for his girlfriend, to take some “proper photos”. We met up at Barrakka Gardens in Valletta for an hour of laughter-filled photo shoot. Absolutely adorable couple and such a lovely way to capture a milestone in a relationship. I wish them all the best in this crazy world. (more…)
I heard the original track by Alice Russell on an episode of Elementary or something of that sort, fell in love with her voice and the stumbling rhythm and wanted to, as usual, dirty it down a bit and give it a good syncopated shuffle.
